Culture Café

I don't know, if i'm just being silly, or does this world have a lack of culture?

Does anyone care about all the classics anymore?

Does anyone care, if there's some guy who want's to be an artist? A poet? A painter?

Yes, we know, that theres some random subcultures, in the big cities, where they discuss, art, music and culture, but in the small cities, in the country and everywhere else, noone seems to care!

If you try to show them something, you get a polite knot, a pat, and a biscuit. I would like some criticism, some opponent and some feed back. A knot is not a feed back!

I want to learn something, that will give me a desire to learn more, and expand my horizons.

I will teach until my head is so full that it explodes, in an explosive combination of lights and fireworks in the colours of the rainbow.

I just got back from school today, 25 minutes too late, from autumn holiday, and found that all we where doing, was to waste our time. Noone learned us about the real values of life, most of the teachers have this dead look of not-caring in their eyes. There is no respect for the teachers, because they don't ask for it. They don't deserve it.

I dont care, if the buildings are old, the class is to big for the classroom, the books are from 1951 or anything else. I just want a small will to teach, those students who wants to be teached.

I think that all those who are ruining the class, should be thrown out, at the beginning, and maybe, when they have found some respect for the teachers and the students around them, they could come back, and have actual classes.

I, myself, am one of the brainy students in my class, and most of the time I function as ''assistant teacher'', which means, that i walk around in the class and makes other peoples assignments, or gives them ''hints'' about the answer. I hate it, it makes me want to jump out of the window, while humming a phsycopatic song.

Im sad about this, i really am, but to the point of it all: I wish that i had someone to share my depressed day, my wicked art, my silly stories, and all the rest.
Someone who listens, to be intertained, and have all the rights to throw me away or give me feed back.

PLEASE SHOW ME THAT SOMEONE LISTENS, AND THAT IM NOT ALONE IN THIS CULTURE DEAD WORLD!!

How To Choose The Right Book

When you need to find the right book, you need to find out who you are, what you wan't to read and what ''language'' the book is speaking.

It can be hard to find the right book, because the outside can cheat you and so can the text on the back of the book.

Here's a good guide to find the right book:

1. Take a look inside the book.
The outside can cheat, so take a look inside the book in the start, the middle and a little bit in the last pages. That will make it easier to see what the book is really about. And to read the book anyway.

2. Ask a friend/librarian.
If you have a friend ( I bet you have one, or else you don't, and thats why you are reading this) you think likes the same books or reads books as you do, then ask the person if theres any books you should read. If you don't have any friends or just don't have the same taste as them then ask the librarian, he can always help you finding the best books. You could also start a book club with some of your friends, which make me move on to number 3.

3. Start a book club.

If you have some friends or relatives who share your interests in books, then make a book club where you can share your own books and discuss your meanings and tell about the funny, sad or weird spots in the books. You don't even have to call it a book club if you think that's too geeky, just be there with your friends and talk about stuff and books.

4. Surf the internet.

If you like the internet then just type your favourite things in http://www.google.com/ and add ''book''. Forexample: Andy Warhol book or Emo Music book, whatever you might like. You can also make an adventure in blogs around the internet like http://www.galadarling.com/. Then write a list of the books you'd like to read an go to the bookstore/library and ask for them.

5. Watch TV.

What a bad advise, but it's true you find a lot of book reviews there. Especially in talkshows.

6. Do the 5 finger test.
If you have trouble reading then use this test:
Pick a page in the middle of the book and read. If you do not know a word, put a finger down. If you end up with five fingers down, choose another book.

7. Look for books in a serie.
This is not working for me, but if you find one good book in a serie you might like the others too.
Try starting with some ''light'' books with not so many pages instead of starting out with Harry Potter.

I Really hope my advises was useful, i will make more later.

Harajuku Special

Harajuku is an an area between Shinjuku and Shibuya. Local landmarks include the headquarters of NHK, Meiji Shrine, and Yoyogi Park.
The area has two main shopping streets, Omotesandō and Takeshita-dōri. The latter caters to youth fashions and has many small stores selling gothic lolita, rockabilly, hip-hop, and punk clothing, in addition to fast food outlets and so forth.

In the 1980s large numbers of street performers and wildly dressed teens including takenoko-zoku (竹の子族, "bamboo-shoot kids") gathered on Omotesandō and the street that passes through Yoyogi Park on Sundays when the streets were closed to traffic. The streets were reopened to traffic in the 90s, and a great number of teens stopped gathering there. Today there are still teenagers hanging out in Harajuku, mostly on the bridge across the train tracks from Harajuku station to Yoyogi Park.
In recent years Omotesandō has seen a rise in branches of expensive fashion stores such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Prada. The avenue is sometimes referred to as "Tokyo's Champs-Élysées".[1] Until 2004, one side of the avenue was occupied by the Dōjunkai Aoyama apāto, Bauhaus-inspired apartments built in 1927 after the 1923 Kantō earthquake. In 2006 the buildings were controversially destroyed by Mori Building and replaced with the "Omotesando Hills"[2] shopping mall, designed by Tadao Ando.[3] The area known as "Ura-Hara" (back streets of Harajuku) is a center of Japanese fashion for younger people — brands such as A Bathing Ape and Undercover have shops in the area.[4]. - wikipedia
